Eyes that wander

"Above all guard your heart because everything you do flows from it" Proverbs 4:23

A kiss on the cheek,

was the attempt of the meek,

young stud who's hair was sleek,

held back in a ponytail and very thick.

But the kiss was deceitful,

a cunning way of getting,

the attention of the lass,

with the intention of being spiteful.

But this wasn't always the case,

as growing up without affection,

would change the innocent into vicious wolves,

and passing the rage from generation to generations.

Revenge became the daily bread,

and spite the wine to drink with,

refusing to let go of the hatred,

and never taking the high road.

As someone who was never nurtured,

and learned things as they matured,

you were forced to stop repeating your cycles,

and pay attention for once.

When the world finally struck a cord,

that led to the undoing of this firm rock,

creating room for forgiveness,

and true inner peace.

Nobody is out to get you,

its your own reflection that you need to face,

in order to fully understand yourself,

and be held accountable for your actions.
