Double Standards

Silly me, i never realized that it's one rule for you and a different one for me

Two choices,

Family or career,

Depends on who you are,

and what your priorities are.

But not with our societies traditions,

women are expected to be sacrificial lambs,

while men are expected to slave for a living,

It's like you can't be both.

Violence on men is acceptable,

while violence on women is offensive,

and women are the prostitutes,

but men are the saints.

Heads or tails,

winners or losers,

work harder, we don't care

God forbid we acknowledge effort.

The structure of the society,

Is such that we keep breaking each other,

Spreading negativity and hate,

As happiness is only for the rich.

We want to build a better future,

but refuse to change our perception,

even transgender people have no place,

since they are "too difficult to understand"
