Attraction

The shadows are alluring

an interesting spectacle

but dangerous at most

the street lights flash

we’re standing in the middle

trying to capture the moment

that’s when i see you

dancing with the shadows

letting your guard down

being true to yourself

i feel so let down

Then again this has nothing to do with me

apart from the many times i let you off the hook

just for you to go gossiping behind my back

your lack of discretion hurt me

and lies bruised me

why did it take this long

for me to realise your true character

nothing i could do to make this better

it wasn’t meant to be, and now i know why

I know that this is karma

coz of ignoring the signs

even when they were clear

that this was a waste of time

Our chemistry blinded me

everytime i tried to leave

i got  pulled  back to you till i saw the pattern

repeating the same old mistakes

expecting to move on

refusing to accept the truth

that we’re not lovers

that we’re just lost and being together

was the only thing that made sense

at least that’s what i thought

till i realised that you played me

coz when you got what you wanted

nothing was ever the same
